Built in Southeast Texas for Southeast Texas
KIP TV Network, also known as Knowledge Is Power Network, is a Beaumont, Texas television network created to give local voices a real place to be seen and heard. The network serves the Golden Triangle and surrounding Southeast Texas communities, including Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Nederland, Vidor, Lumberton, and Silsbee.
KIP TV is owned and led by Tony Renfro. It operates as a Texas LLC with a simple purpose: make more room for local conversations that can inform, encourage, challenge, and connect people.
What KIP TV is
KIP TV is a community streaming television network. We create, present, and distribute programming rooted in the people and issues of this region. Our work includes original talk programming, podcasts, community conversation, creator partnerships, student media opportunities, and local sponsorship. A self-service podcast studio is in development.
We distribute KIP TV on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, and Google TV. Content is delivered through the Orocast OTT platform at knowledgeispowernetwork.com. No subscription required.
That distribution matters. A meaningful local conversation should not have only one chance to be noticed in a crowded feed. A good episode, a thoughtful interview, or a student-produced story deserves a place where people can find it intentionally and watch it on the television platforms already in their homes.
Who we serve
KIP TV serves people who care about where they live and want a stronger connection to it. That includes viewers looking for local perspective, community voices ready to share their work, small businesses seeking a relevant sponsorship opportunity, churches and organizations that need a professional place to record, school districts interested in student media, and independent creators looking for broader distribution.
We believe a network can be local without being small in its thinking. Southeast Texas contains deep experience, ambition, faith, creativity, discipline, and care for neighbors. KIP TV exists to make more of that visible.
What we believe
We believe conversations can do real work. They can introduce a neighbor's idea, make a complicated subject easier to understand, recognize work that is often overlooked, and create a reason to stay engaged with the community.
We believe media skills are practical skills. When students learn to plan a story, operate equipment, conduct an interview, organize a production, and work as a crew, they build habits that carry into college, careers, and civic life.
We believe local businesses should have a local media option that treats their message with care. Sponsorship can support programming and place a business in a setting that feels more lasting and more relevant than a quick interruption.
We believe creators and organizations deserve a path beyond posting alone. Distribution, coaching, production discipline, and a trusted local platform can help good work travel farther.
How the network is funded
KIP TV is supported by local sponsorship. Viewers do not need a subscription to watch the network. Sponsorship gives businesses and organizations a way to support local programming while receiving a television presence designed around their goals.
KIP TV is also building a self-service podcast studio, where businesses, churches, organizations, and creators will book studio time by the half hour or the hour and record their own content. The studio is not open yet. These two parts of the work are designed to reinforce each other: sponsorship helps sustain the network, and studio time will help local voices tell their own stories well.
The work ahead
KIP TV is growing carefully, with purpose. The goal is not to fill a schedule for the sake of filling a schedule. The goal is to build programming and partnerships that serve Southeast Texas with consistency and respect.
If you have a story, a show, a school activity, a business goal, or a production need, there is a place to start a conversation.
The Vision Behind KIP TV
Tony Renfro has spent his life around two things: cars and a microphone. One paid the bills for more than fifty years. The other never let him go.
He started as a teenage disc jockey — a kid with a voice, a stack of records, and a signal reaching further than he could see. He spent a decade on the air and went on to serve as a marketing director in the radio and record industry, learning the thing that would shape everything after: a single voice, carried the right way, can hold a whole community's attention. Not by shouting. By telling the truth about people's lives.
Then came fifty years in the automobile industry. Long days. Real work. Thousands of conversations with people from every corner of Southeast Texas — about what they were hoping for, what they were carrying, what they were afraid of. He didn't know it at the time, but he was in training. You cannot build a network for a community you haven't listened to, and Tony had been listening for half a century.
Knowledge Is Power Network began as a vision the Lord placed in his spirit. Not a business plan that came first and found a purpose later — a calling that arrived with a clear picture attached: a television network that belonged to the people it served. Not national programming beamed into Beaumont from somewhere else, but Beaumont's own stories. Its elders, holding memory that nobody had thought to record. Its cooks, who feed a neighborhood and never get called chefs. Its students, its pastors, its small business owners, its neighbors doing faithful work that never makes the evening news.
So he built it. Today Tony is founder, CEO, and host of KIP TV Network, where he hosts The Legacy Lounge, sitting with the people whose lives hold the history of this region; Pot Lucking, where the table is the point as much as the food; and Let's Talk Impact, for the conversations that move a community forward. The network partners with area schools so young people can learn production with real equipment and real deadlines, and it opens its doors to local creators who have something to say but no platform to say it from. Local sponsorship keeps every bit of it available with no subscription required, because Tony believes access to your own community's story should never cost anybody anything.
If there is a message in his story, it is this: the vision does not expire. Tony began this work in a season when most people are told their building days are behind them. He would tell you the opposite — that everything he did for fifty years was preparation, that nothing was wasted, and that the assignment God gives you does not come with an age limit. It comes with a due date only you can miss.
Knowledge is power. Sharing it is purpose.
